History
The Association started in 1926 with a dance, collecting money in a shoebox, to help fellow firefighters who were sick or injured off duty. Also, to provide a small retirement benefit. Incorporated in 1955. Operated by a volunteer board of directors, with 3 paid positions, the Association has grown to a 4.6 Million dollar fund, still providing the same type of benefits to our fellow Los Angeles County firefighters.
Our Mission
LACFRA was formed to bind the members thereof together in a closer bond of fraternity, for mutual protection and to assist fellow members and their families in sickness, distress and death, and to promote and improve social relations and welfare among the members.
